A motorcyclist has died following a road traffic collision on the Great Orme in Llandudno.
North Wales Police say the collision happened at around 10.30 last night (Thursday 29 October) on Marine Drive, approximately a mile from the Toll House in the direction of the summit.
The rider, who has not yet been publicly identified, entered the sea below the Great Orme following the collision.
A major emergency response was launched involving police, HM Coastguard and the RNLI. The man was recovered from the water and airlifted by Coastguard helicopter to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor.
However, despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead.
His next of kin have been informed and the coroner has been notified. An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is now underway.
Sergeant Alun Jones, from North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit, said: "Sadly, this is now being investigated as a fatal road traffic collision, and our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this very difficult time.
"We are urging anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or anybody who was travelling or walking along Marine Drive on the evening of Thursday 29 October, to contact us.
"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was travelling from the Toll House towards the Great Orme summit between 10pm and 10.30pm and who may have dashcam footage.
"Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could assist with our investigation."
