Motorists are facing major disruption on the A55 after two separate incidents on Rhuallt Hill involving a road traffic collision and a vehicle fire.

Emergency services are currently dealing with a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the westbound carriageway.

At the same time, crews also remain at the scene of a vehicle fire on the eastbound side of the road.

Both incidents are affecting traffic in the Rhuallt Hill area, with delays building in both directions as emergency services work at the scenes. All lanes remained closed at 11.45am.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area if possible and find alternative routes while recovery and emergency operations continue.

A statement issued to motorists said: “Emergency services are currently in attendance of a two vehicle RTC on the A55 westbound carriageway.

“Emergency services are also still in attendance of a vehicle fire on the eastbound carriageway.

“Both incidents are on Rhuallt Hill.

“Please find alternative routes. Thanks for your patience and cooperation.”
