Llandudno dessert café puts focus on community connection

A new luxury dessert destination in Llandudno is being highlighted as both a boost for the local economy and a space designed to encourage connection, as wellbeing and community wellbeing continue to take centre stage across North Wales.

Heavenly Desserts has opened its latest venue at the Victoria Shopping Centre on Mostyn Street, bringing handcrafted artisan desserts and signature drinks to one of the busiest coastal towns in the region.

The launch has already created new jobs and is expected to increase footfall in the town centre, with the opening supported by Conwy County Borough Council through its Commercial Property Development Grant, part of the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns initiative.

Council officials say the investment has helped bring a previously underused space back into active use, contributing to ongoing regeneration efforts in Llandudno and strengthening the town’s appeal to both residents and visitors.

Beyond the economic impact, Heavenly Desserts says its focus is on something more personal — creating welcoming spaces where people can pause, switch off and spend meaningful time together.

As Mental Health Awareness Week highlights the importance of wellbeing and human connection, the company says its cafés are designed to encourage exactly that: simple, shared moments in comfortable, inclusive surroundings.

Marketing Manager Lauren Malia said the brand places a strong emphasis on positivity and atmosphere.

“As a business, we pride ourselves on positivity and creating spaces where people feel comfortable coming together,” she said. “For us, it’s about offering an environment where guests can enjoy time with others and take a moment out of their day.”

Founded in 2008 by Mohammad Imran and Yousif Aslam, Heavenly Desserts has grown into an international franchise known for its luxury dessert experiences and contemporary dining spaces, each designed to reflect a slightly different local identity.

The Llandudno opening is part of that wider expansion, but also reflects a broader trend across North Wales — where town centre regeneration and community-focused businesses are increasingly working hand in hand.

With tourism remaining a major driver for the region, particularly along the North Wales coast, developments like this are seen as helping strengthen both the visitor experience and the evening economy.

At a time when conversations around mental health are becoming more prominent, the brand says its aim is simple: to offer everyday spaces where connection happens naturally — whether over a quick catch-up, a family treat, or a longer conversation in the heart of Llandudno.
