March 17, 2020 - 2109 views

Cineworld in Llandudno Junction has closed its doors in response to the Coronavirus outbreak, Bayside learns today.

As part of a national approach to keep the spread of the virus to a minimum and to avoid public venue, the company has shut all of its 100 sites until such time as it is safe to open them again.

Cineworld joins a growing number of companies to take radical action to prevent the spread of Covid 19. Cinema chain Odeon have joined Cineworld in closing its 150 cinemas.

It has been reported that ticket sales have gradually fallen over the past few weeks in response to the public's fear over catching the virus.

Theatre Colwyn and Venue Cymru have been two local entertainment spots which have closed their doors on shows and concerts in past few days.

The impact of the virus and the potential threat to businesses in the Bay of Colwyn will be discussed tonight in an emergency meeting of the Bay of Colwyn Town Council. We hope to bring you an update on Bayside as soon as we are able.
