Households in Wales are set to receive a £100 energy payment after the Welsh Government confirmed it will match support announced in the Chancellor’s Budget.
Finance Minister Elin Jones said the payment would be available to eligible households in council tax bands A to D, as part of measures planned to help with the cost of living.
The Chancellor announced the payment for millions of households in England and said funding would also be provided to Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The Welsh Government has yet to set out full details of how and when the payments will be made.
The announcement comes as families face continued pressure from household bills, with further information expected on how the scheme will operate in Wales.
