A Conwy Church has received a stay of execution after an appeal to one of the highest religious orders following its closure last February.
St. Michael's and Angels Church on Rosemary Lane was ordered to close its doors by the Bishop of Wrexham after attendances dwindled and running costs continued to rack up.
Now churchgoers have been told that their appeal to the Vatican has been successful and that the Catholic Church must keep the Church open.
The community spent a number of months fundraising and finding ways to make the appeal through the correct channels and to the Vatican.
Diocese leaders will now be meeting up to discuss the impact of the decision and what this now means for the continuation of services and support for the Church.
