A goal conceded right after half-time resulted in the Seagulls losing their crunch bottom of the table clash 1-0 at home the Barry Town, to leave them four points adrift of safety in the JD Cymru Premier – allbeit with games in hand.
Once again they couldn’t convert their chances as their winless league run extended to five games.
A goalless first half saw both sides struggle to create clear chances, although Udi Akpan had a shot from the edge of area comfortably saved by the Barry keeper and Alfie Brooks made a great save to deny the visitors taking the lead before half-time.
The Bay, however, were caught out straight from the kick-off for the second as Barry dangerman Kayne McLaggon ran forward and planted a shot into the bottom corner of the net from 25 yards.
The Seagulls fought hard to get back on terms but Udi Akpan shot just wide from Tom McCready’s corner, McCready fired a chance straight at the keeper and Sam Downey put a header inches wide of the post from another corner.
At the other end Sam Hart made a goal-saving challenge to stop Barry getting a second.
