Resident Cora marks 100th birthday at Colwyn Bay home

A resident at a Colwyn Bay home marked her 100th birthday with two birthday parties.

Cora Joyce lives at MHA Coed Craig and celebrated her 100th birthday with two parties.

Cora has been living at the home for 2 and a half years and celebrated her 100th birthday on the 2nd of February 2026.

Her first party, arranged by friends, was held at the Abergele Golf Club, where some staff members of the home were also in attendance.

Later in the day, the home decked up one of the dining rooms at the home with balloons and banners for Cora to celebrate her big day with fellow residents and staff.

Cora received more than 50 birthday cards including a telegram from the King
 
MHA Coed Craig provides residential and residential dementia care for 45 people.
 
Hayley Williams, activity coordinator said: “Cora had a great time celebrating her birthday and was very grateful for what had been arranged for her.

“She told us she really enjoyed the day and was very happy throughout the day.

“Here at the home, we arranged for Cora to have a party with fellow residents and staff, with a delicious cake prepared by a local baker. 
 
“She received a good number of birthday cards and was very happy when she was opening them.
 
“It was a very busy day for her, but she was very active and had a huge smile on her face.”
