A 30-year-old man has been charged following a major police incident in the Afonwen area of Pwllheli over the weekend.

Specialist officers, including firearms teams, negotiators and the drone unit, were deployed to contain a property at around 5pm on Saturday, 16 May, after reports of threats.

The incident continued overnight before concluding at around 6am on Sunday, 17 May, when a man inside the address was safely detained by officers.

Philip Blakemore, of Eifion Terrace, Y Ffor, Pwllheli, appeared before Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with harassment without violence, breach of a domestic abuse protection order, criminal damage, and sending a communication that was grossly offensive.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear again at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on 21 May.
