A 48-year-old man has been charged after a female member of staff was allegedly assaulted at a retail store in Barmouth.
North Wales Police were called to the shop shortly after 1.30pm on Wednesday, November 4, following reports that a man had assaulted an employee.
Officers were able to locate and arrest a suspect after the victim provided a prompt report and a description of the man.
Matthew Harris, from Sheffield, has since been charged with assault by beating in connection with the incident. He has also been charged with harassment involving a second female victim.
Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, the charges were authorised. Harris was refused police bail and remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at court on November 6.
District Inspector for Gwynedd South, Iwan Jones, said police took reports of this nature extremely seriously.
He said officers would continue to pursue those responsible as part of efforts to tackle violence against women and girls.
He also thanked the victims and everyone who had supported the investigation, helping officers present a case to prosecutors.
